Representatives endorse tax credit for consumers that purchase the clean burning, renewable fuel.

House passes biodiesel credit

Today's Billings Gazette reports on the recent passage of House Bill 822 by Representative Michele Reinhart of Missoula. The bill:

HELENA - Motorists who fill up their tanks with biodiesel would be eligible for a tax credit under a bill that won bipartisan House support Thursday. [...]

"Tax policy is a good way to reward people for doing the right thing, and this is something our consumers want," said Rep. Michele Reinhart, D-Missoula, one of the bill's sponsors.

The House endorsed the proposal, 60-40. A final vote is scheduled Friday.
