Montana ranchers looking to biodiesel
JUDITH GAP - After finishing the ranch's year-end financials, Dean and
Trudi Peterson are analyzing the year's ranching decisions and
contemplating ways to improve the business in 2007.
The
Petersons are looking into different conservation methods to improve
efficiency of the E.L. Peterson Ranch, located near Judith Gap, where
the Petersons raise cattle, sheep, hay and small grains.
"I am
going to attempt to make it to a biodiesel workshop in Livingston to
learn more about biodiesel production and usage," Dean said. "I'm also
learning more about and researching hydrogen generators you can put on
your pickup to burn water to increase the efficiency on the pickup 15
percent. It ionizes the water and dumps into the carburetor."
